Freshly Painted!

26-Aug-2008 This morning, I was excited to (carefully!) rip open a package from Sean Deitrick containing another "take" on the British Zulu War sprue!

And thanks to the EXCELLENT tutorial by Mr. Tom Weiss on his website  (see here: Tom Weiss Photo Tutorial) I can FINALLY post up some better (I still have some experimenting to do) close up photos! Thank you Tom!

Here are some shots of Mr. Deitrick's very fine work:

"Steady lads!"

"I can't load fast enough, sar!"

"How'd the buggers get behind us?"

"Fire!"

"Ready bayonets!"

"Bring your rifles around on the hillside! Fire at the smoke!"

"There's farsands of them!"

We received many emails asking for comparison shots -- here's a quick one to Foundry Miniatures. Apologies for the unpainted miniature!

Thanks to Sean for a job well done! More of his work to come next week!

Those look really good. I'm interested to see how the Celts look; this may get me into Historics.

I thought they looked good on the sprue, but these look amazing. Long live plastic! What else can we do with these?

brandon: I don't know about you, but I'm buying some extra arm bits with bolters and turning them into Praetorians!

whoa those chaps look sweet. I'm looking forward to see some Celts: if they're as good as the British I definitely made a great deal by ordering you miniatures!

I've been shopping around for Colonials recently and I'm glad that I haven't made a purchase yet because these are a MUST BUY!

OK - thanks for the size comparison - I'm hooked - I was going to stick with my Colonials in Khaki (quicker to paint)! But these figures look sweet......so who will be stocking these figures in the UK with exception of Caviler Books? Best regards Kelvin White Oxford

These should also be good with BTD figures, which are the same size as Foundry..

well September is here and shipping will be soon? These have tempted me beyond all reason, I've dug out The Sword and The Flame and can't wait to start another new period. **************

These look absolutly fabulous, and for the price they're a steal. But I had a question: is the sleeve embroidery molded into the plastic or do you have to paint it on?
Tony @ Wargames Factory commented on 09-Oct-2008 09:28 AM5 out of 5 stars
Hi Ben - yes, there is a raised line there to show the embroidery. It makes it easier to paint -- but if you want the sleeves to be smooth, it's quite easy to file it off. Thanks, Tony Tony Reidy Wargames Factory
