This is certainly a very good deal. There has been a lot of nonsense about these not being good figures but they're quite nice. What I have to commend WF on is that each release has been better than the last. The detail on the Germans is just fantastic. So the Romans are not as nice as the Germans but the ones I've painted and put together with my Marc Copplestone Foundry Caesareans are a perfect fit. You just have to get some paint on them. Personally I am very much looking forward to the rumored Imperial Romans that WF is planning to release. If they match the Germans in detail they could well be the best 25/28mm Imperial Romans available. Hurry it up please.

Ugh! Thanks. Just ordered a few more "spare" boxes "just in case" I might not have enough already. Now if I could just find the time to finish painting the rest of the Romans I've already got!

@ JB...I was also put off these by the review in WI but have heard through the grapevine the reviewer spent all of four minutes having a look at them in a shop and was supposedly put off by the colour of the plastic. I've since seen them and although not as crisp as the Warlord EIR these are very serviceable models and as mentioned work well with the Foundry I've also had sample sprues of the Germanics and they are just excellent. Definitely the best barbarian models in plastic.

I have been taking photos of these guys for a time now, and these are GREAT FIGURES! I am putting together a bunch for Steve to paint in preparation for Fall In where we plan to run a game with several 100’s of these troops on the field. Tony, you do this with such style and grace. Keep up the good work….and at $9.99, what a deal!!!!

I'm in for five boxes, and I don't even play historicals. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them ;)

That's less than I pay for a box of 1/72's. But 09/09/09 is not the last repeat dat till 010101. What about 10/10/10, 11/11/11, and 12/12/12?

Ordered mine on 09/09! Plan to use most of them for "imitation" legionnaires, or "generic heavy infantry" using the nummidians sprue. Gee, maybe I should suggest an ancients head sprue with different types of helmetsas just about everyone else did use hamata- mail?
