In September of 9 AD, Rome suffered one of her most devastating defeats of her history losing 3 full legions to Germanic warriors who led them into a treacherous ambush. The leader of the victorious Germans was a former Roman auxiliary general and Roman knight (Equestrian) and Steve Saleh has captured him perfectly.

Hermann is the perfect war leader for you Ancient German army!

Hmmm.. Nice mini. Hermann/Arminius, however, was a Roman officer at the time of the famous battle, so while he certainly donned Germanic gear when he left the Legions to their doom, he probably had shaven hair and - if at all - a smaller beard.

Great looking model. Awesome pose. However I must agree with the above comment. Although it is likely he had some facial hair, the huge beard and long hair seem a little to much for a man who had literally just left the Roman army. Still easily usable for a generic German leader though. good sculpting just a little inaccurate

The figure is beautiful and very clean! I just finished painting mine up and he looks great. I'll just consider mine to have a different name than Arminius, given the historic personage's Roman cleanshavenness.
