You'll receive 3 sprues FULL of parts to build 8 complete Vikings with options to build swordmen, axemen (two axe sizes) spearmen (as the majority of Viking armies were), or bowmen skirmishers.

The full set (24 figures) will be released later this year as we launch our Hammer of the Gods range -  but we wanted to let you have the chance to get your hands on these guys and have some fun!

Here's what the "Sampler" includes:

Sprue 12: Dark Age Warriors
4 bodies (unarmored)
24 arm choices

Sprue 13: Dark Age Armored Warriors
4 bodies (chainmail)
24 arm choices

Sprue 14: Viking Equipment/Head Sprue

2 bows
2 quivers with arrows
4 swords
3 swords in scabbards
1 horn
2 large axes
2 small axes
1 double-arm swinging pose (unarmored)
1 double-arm swinging pose (chainmail)

Start your Viking shieldwall or build a unit of skirmishers...the choice is yours!

Exceptional detail

Designed to paint quickly

Loads of character

WE HAD TO DO IT! ;-)  We know the horned helmet isn't historically accurate, but we wanted to give you the choice to have a real Hagar in your Viking army! (And this is designed in such a way that the horns can be removed to leave a historically accurate helm!)

This mini-set includes enough parts to build a unit like this (bases not included - yet)

Some person was telling me that the new Factory was getting as good as Perry but until I saw these I didn't think it was possible. And these may be better. More dynamic, more living feel. Lekker!

Perry Brothers eat your hearts out! A big Way To Go to the Wargames Factory sculptors! These Vikings are the best hard plastic historicals I've seen!

looking good, perfect opponents for my welsh army
Labienus commented on 23-Oct-2009 02:15 PM5 out of 5 stars
While I think they are still on in the same league as the Perrys' miniatures, they are most certainly the best WF release so far. I am sure they will sell extraordinarily well. And rightly so. Well done -again- Tony&Co! Cheers Labienus

I said your Zombie deal was great, but give a guy a break, I can stand only so much temptation. These guys ROCK! You truely have artist's on your team.
None of the Above commented on 24-Oct-2009 02:37 PM3 out of 5 stars
Excellent! This eight figure set is perfect! I'm going to buy a couple of these and use them as alternate Warhammer Brettonia Longbowmen. You guys wouldn't happen to have a Feudal-age miniature line incoming sometime this year, would you? I could really use some mounted knights...
Thomas G Poulsen commented on 25-Oct-2009 01:52 AM3 out of 5 stars
Great set, but horns om the hemlet honestly!! Keep up the good work

I was gonna freak out about the horned helmet and right something real nasty here until I saw the comment!
comrade87 commented on 26-Oct-2009 02:33 AM3 out of 5 stars
heh.. the horned helmet was actually sort of a joke I believe, they put it in there even though they know they didn't really put horns on their helmets. lol. Great product.
Robert Day commented on 26-Oct-2009 11:16 AM5 out of 5 stars
Great Figures! Just ordered 16 sets! Again great life filled poses, plenty of options and a very reasonable price! Oh well there goes my hobby money for this week! Keep up the great work!
Kane commented on 26-Oct-2009 12:59 PM4 out of 5 stars
Excellent work! Only (minor) complaint is it looks like the chainmail divets could be a little deeper to make dry-brushing easier. Other than that, great work!
Ben Bevan commented on 29-Oct-2009 07:58 AM3 out of 5 stars
I wouldn't say they are even close to the Perry brothers level of sculpting. So I disagree big time with people comparing this stuff to the Perry Twins, who are probably the best sculptors around (heck one of them only has one arm!). However... This is an immense improvement from their earliest box sets which were very poor in my opinion. The heads are certainly on the foundry level (even GW) of sculpting, these miniatures do look good. I think I too will be purchasing a few of these, they do look nice, and the detail with this company is just coming along in leaps and bounds. Very nice, you have my buck.
Rowar commented on 01-Nov-2009 06:23 AM5 out of 5 stars
This is eactly waht I havebeen waiting for! An incrediabllly detailed armoured core for a Dark Age Germanic Army! I'd better wait for the full set, as I'll need quite a few!
Chelsea Paul commented on 03-Nov-2009 10:42 AM3 out of 5 stars
Very nice, great improvment on the detail of the Romans. However $15 for 8 figures with p&p for us in the uk means i'll wait for the full packs. Keep improving.

Received mine in the post this morning. Lovely models absolutely stunning work. WF have come a massive distance in one year. To the point above re: Perry bros. Ahem...shuffles feet...coughs...yes, they're right there with them. Cheers to everyone at the Factory for a job well done!
Kevin commented on 09-Nov-2009 01:45 PM5 out of 5 stars
Just got mine in, and I'll admit they are lovely! Can't wait to clean 'em up and get to paintin'. One suggestion, more scabbards! There are four unsheathed swords, but only three sheathed swords. Each armored figure should have a sheath/sword combo, and maybe an extra one or two for some of the Bondi types. Very well sculpted, great assortment of arms and heads to make up an almost indefinate assortment.
Robert Day commented on 11-Nov-2009 10:00 AM5 out of 5 stars
Just received mine yesterday. Wow! These are great! Excellent details! Many options for building them. Great job! Robert

Beautiful figures with many options for building and posing. I never seriously considered getting Vikings before, but I've always been a fan of the movie "The 13th Warrior". After seeing these figures and the great price, I'll start putting my order together this week.

ha Tony...excellant job on the vikings...and i think Tom was right...dosen't one of those heads look a lot like the face on the sour cream carton ????? I really wish I needed these guys,( but I want them soo much),,but I am so swamped with romans, celts numidians and germans just now ...I have no room on my painting table.
Axel commented on 17-Nov-2009 07:27 AM3 out of 5 stars
Splendid. Looking forward to getting them into my grubby fingers. I just have to say that these will run perfectly with the Revell Viking ship. Do a search if you have not yet discovered (and bought) that one to go with your vikings...

My order arrived yesterday, and I am very pleased with these figures. These figures represent superior value for money. Four complete sets and so many variations to choose from...I am spoiled for choice!!! The detail is quite good and I must admit that they have exceeded all my expectations, thus far. I agree with Kevin's comment about sword scabbards..but I think I can scratch-build anything that I may need. Bottom line: I highly recommend these figures!!!

Patrick R commented on 28-Dec-2009 07:37 PM3 out of 5 stars
My models arrived this morning. Didn't order that many as my Viking army is already a formidable size. Detail looks nice and crisp. Some of the weapons look great, like the spears and axes. Overall an excellent set, WF is coming along greatly ! There are a few minor nitpicks. The faces are too symmetrical, but I believe that is easy to tweak in future sets. The other is the lack of a bearded axe.

will1066 commented on 14-Jan-2010 02:36 PM3 out of 5 stars
I got my vikings in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that they are some of the finest figures I have ever put together. There isn't a lot of flash on the models, so they're easy to clean up, and the realistic details are great. I LOVE the Hagar the Horrible head you tossed in. I may have to use it just because. Hehe. Thanks for another great set of minis!

Madbadger commented on 14-Feb-2010 06:47 AM4 out of 5 stars
Beautiful pieces of art, and I now want to play this era now that the figures are the quality they are...
Lloyd commented on 17-Feb-2010 10:42 AM4 out of 5 stars
Looks good. Will probably get them when the full packs come out. I think it was a mistake to make the normal spears so very short. The standard spear was eight foot. Better, to make all the spears this length because cutting a long spear short is easy, whereas lengthening a short spear is very difficult. Many customers are going to want to create a shieldwall of spearmen, and so will want every man with a full-length spear.
Roger W commented on 22-Feb-2010 05:32 PM5 out of 5 stars
I just got the set & they're all they're ed up to be (& More). You really have a ton of pose options as well as weapon options & the detailing is fantastic, it just keeps getting better w/ each set. Plus the 5$ for 3 sprues is fantastic, I can't wait for a boxed set or hopefully being able to buy the sprues ( from every box set as well) individually. Keep up the good work!!!!!
